1st MAXI Single CD 少年は剣を・・・ (Hepburn: Shounen wa Tsurugi o…, lit. "The Boy takes the Sword to do...") is the first release to mark the "Second Era" of Sound Horizon. Released on October 4th, 2006, it contains three main tracks and two bonus tracks. Two of the main tracks were collaborative songs for video games and one is a teaser release of "緋色の風車", which appeared in the 2006 album Roman. Aramary left Sound Horizon with this release and 4 vocalists appeared on this first release without her. For the three songs there is a different main vocalist for each song. "終端の王と異世界の騎士 ~The Endia & The Knights~" was used as the opening theme for the 2006 PlayStation 2 game Chaos Wars and "神々が愛した楽園 ~Belle Isle~" was used as the opening theme for the 2005 MMORPG Belle Isle (ベルアイル). The ending track is used as a preview to the main melody of Roman.
Originally scheduled for July of 2006 it was then scheduled for release on September 20th, and finally extended for release in October. This marks the first time Sound Horizon reached in the top ten of ORICON's ranking. This album along with 10 others was remastered in 2020 for Sound Horizon's 15th Anniversary.

少年は剣を・・・ (Re:Master Production) (Hepburn: Shounen wa Tsurugi o…, lit. "The Boy takes the Sword to do...") is a remastered version of the 2006 single 少年は剣を・・・. Released on August 26th, 2020 it features all of the original tracks on the album including the hidden tracks. Under Revo's supervision, and using the latest technology, King Records released this album in a "Sound Horizon Around 15th Anniversary Re:Master Production" series. The person in charge of remastering this album was 前田康二 (Yasuji Maeda) a mastering engineer who studied under the legendary sound engineer Bernie Grundman. the first press limited edition contains a specially illustrated postcard by yokoyan. For Fanclub members only, Sound Horizon Around 15th Anniversary Re:Master Production Complete Set was sold in two parts, the first half being shipped on July 29, 2020 and the second half shipping on October 21st. This album is contained in the first half. The complete set retailed for ¥30,000, about $280 USD[1].
